Hello, how can we help you?

help alliance: a 25-year success story with many happy endings

From schooling for the little ones and vocational training for teenagers to spontaneous help in current crisis zones, help alliance sets to work wherever help is needed true to the motto “Closer to the world. Closer to its people.” The aid organisation of the Lufthansa Group and its employees has been supporting charitable projects around the world for 25 years. Its main focus is on access to education, medical care and healthy food as well as equal opportunities for all. By working together with experienced partners on site, donations can be used in a targeted manner. The Lufthansa Group covers the administrative costs, so that every single mile and euro donated can go towards the projects. The aim is to help people lead an independent life free from poverty.

Give a better future with help alliance from as little as 3,000 miles

For 25 years, help alliance has been supporting projects around the world: from building and funding nurseries and schools in various African countries to helping street children in India and supporting educational programmes in Germany. Lufthansa Group employees – normally working as flight attendants, pilots, ground staff or managers – supervise and lead these projects voluntarily in their free time. They are the point of contact between help alliance and local partner organisations. You too can help and support help alliance by donating from as little as 3,000 miles. You can choose between donating to a particular project or one of three causes:

School and preschool education

Work and income

Equal opportunities and inclusion

If you’d like to support the work of help alliance in general, simply make a general donation. Whatever you decide, you can be sure that 100 per cent of your mileage donation will go towards the projects. Locally, help alliance works with organisations that have many years of experience and understand the needs of the people. The administrative, PR and fundraising costs are covered by the Lufthansa Group.

We achieved this with your support, so thank you.

There are many projects we and help alliance are proud of. These include the construction of the new “iThemba” primary school in Capricorn township near Cape Town, where more than 1,000 children have been studying since 2022. Meanwhile, the school has been

expanded to include a nursery.

Following the tsunami on India’s south coast in 2004, help alliance not only provided immediate assistance but also launched a long-term project in the fishing village of Prana. A special school was founded in which children of all religions and castes could learn together and find a second home.

The most recently completed project is the construction of a training centre for disadvantaged school-leavers in Togo, West Africa. 650 young people have been receiving vocational training here every year since February 2024.

Please carry on donating your miles to help alliance, so we can write more success stories like this together.
