Travel a class higher with an upgrade voucher

Upgrade vouchers, or eVouchers, are electronic vouchers for upgrades to a higher travel class.



For example, if you have a regular ticket for an intercontinental flight in Economy Class, you can redeem eVouchers to upgrade to Business Class.

 

You’ll get two or four upgrade vouchers depending on whether you achieve Senator or HON Circle status. You’ll get the same number of upgrade vouchers every time you renew your status, too.1 We’ll also credit you with additional eVouchers as part of our Extra Benefits when you earn a certain number of Qualifying Points or HON Circle Points in a single calendar year.

 

The eVouchers available to you will be displayed on your Miles & More newsletter and in your Miles & More account.

Your benefits

Upgrade vouchers can be redeemed with all Star Alliance partners, depending on the destination, airline, travel class and booking class.

With an eVoucher, you can fly one class higher on international flights within an award region.

One to three eVouchers are required for an upgrade on long-haul flights, depending on the destination, airline, travel class and booking class.2

How to redeem your eVouchers

There are a variety of ways to redeem eVouchers:

 

  • Directly online when booking your upgrade award
  • By telephone via your Miles & More Service Team
  • At many of our airline partners when you check in at the airport

 

It’s not always possible to use your upgrade vouchers as you wish. Please understand that eVouchers can only be redeemed with restrictions and where available capacity is expected.
 
Good to know: once used, eVouchers are automatically deducted from your Miles & More account. Your upgrade will be added to your flight booking in our online booking system. No additional flight documents are required.

Please note that the relevant number of eVouchers will only be credited to your account after your new Senator or HON Circle Member card has been issued. They cannot be awarded prior to this, for example on the grounds that you have already met all the conditions for subsequently renewing your status.
